Itinery

Depart from Nairobi in the morning and begin your scenic journey to the world-renowned Maasai Mara National Reserve. Along the way, we stop at the breathtaking Great Rift Valley viewpoint, where you can take in the panoramic views and capture memorable photos of this spectacular natural landscape.

Arrive at your selected camp or lodge in time for a delicious lunch. After check-in, enjoy some time to relax and settle into your surroundings.

With an early morning start, we head out into the vast plains of the iconic Maasai Mara National Reserve for a full-day game drive. This is the perfect time to catch predators in action and maximise your chances of spotting the Big Five — lion, elephant, leopard, rhino, and buffalo — along with countless other wildlife species that call the Mara home.

During the day, you’ll also visit the famous Mara River, known for dramatic wildlife scenes during the migration season. Here, you’ll take a guided walk along the riverbanks, where you may spot hippos, crocodiles, and other animals drawn to the water.

We will also stop at the Kenya–Tanzania border marker inside the reserve, giving you the chance to stand at the point that separates Kenya from Tanzania — a great photo opportunity and a memorable highlight of the day.

At midday, enjoy a picnic lunch under the shade of a tree within the park, surrounded by the sights and sounds of the African wilderness. After lunch, continue exploring the reserve before returning to camp in the evening, filled with unforgettable safari memories.

After breakfast, embark on a visit to a traditional Maasai village for an authentic cultural experience. Immerse yourself in the vibrant life of the Maasai people as you learn about their customs, traditions, and daily routines, gaining a deeper understanding and appreciation of one of Kenya’s most iconic communities.

Following the village visit, depart for Lake Nakuru National Park, enjoying a scenic drive through the breathtaking Great Rift Valley. Pause for lunch along the way before continuing to your chosen lodge or camp.

Upon arrival, take some time to relax and unwind amid the serene surroundings of your accommodation. Later, embark on a short hike to Baboon Cliff, where panoramic views of the park and the surrounding landscapes await. Return to your lodge to enjoy a delicious dinner, reflecting on the day’s experiences and the remarkable sights you’ve encountered.

After breakfast, set out for a morning game drive in Lake Nakuru National Park, a haven for wildlife including rhinos, flamingos, and a wide variety of bird species. Explore the park’s picturesque acacia woodlands and stroll along the shimmering lakeshore as you spot animals in their natural habitat.

Around midday, depart the park and begin the scenic drive toward Samburu, eating lunch enroute. Upon arrival in Samburu, settle into your accommodation, where you can relax and take in the stunning surroundings.

In the evening, enjoy a delicious dinner at your lodge, reflecting on the day’s wildlife encounters and the breathtaking landscapes you’ve experienced.

Continue your adventure as you enter Buffalo Springs, where the landscape changes and the natural springs offer a refreshing oasis. Take the opportunity to explore the area further and enjoy a rejuvenating dip in the crystal-clear waters, surrounded by the sounds of nature.

After a day filled with discovery and adventure, return to your accommodation to unwind, relax, and reflect on the day’s experiences. As evening descends, savour a leisurely dinner, letting the memories of the savannah linger while you rest in comfort.

After enjoying breakfast, immerse yourself in one final cultural experience with the Samburu tribe, learning about their traditions, customs, and way of life before beginning the journey back to Nairobi. This is a unique opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of one of Kenya’s most fascinating communities.

Along the way, travellers planning to hike Mount Kenya will be dropped off in Nanyuki, providing a convenient starting point for their adventure. The rest of the group will continue the scenic drive through the Kenyan countryside, passing rolling hills, farmland, and occasionally spotting wildlife along the route.

Upon arrival in Nairobi, guests will be dropped off at their hotels or the designated drop-off point, concluding an unforgettable journey through northern Kenya’s diverse landscapes, rich cultures, and remarkable wildlife.
